With todays interest rates you would think that the housing market would be flooded with buyers! Unfortunatley this is far from seen in todays market especially our own local market here in Oklahoma City and Midwest City. I run into people who rent and they all seem to have the same excuse or reasoning which is "I cant afford to buy", "I have bad credit", "I dont know how to buy so therefore I will just rent", "I dont want to be foreclosed on"! These are just some of the things I have heard when prospecting! Most often they have not even checked their credit score, have not researched how to buy a house or even consulted with a Realtor. Its the same old mind set resisting change! It seems like a lot of work so I will just keep throwing away my money on rent so I dont have to buy and be responsible and maybe make a return on my investment.

We have a monthly seminar here at our Midwest City office which is the second Tuesday of every month from 6pm to 7pm. Our hopes to educate the public and answer any questions they might have about buying a home, or how to repair their credit without being scammed by those companies out there promising the world.

Unfortunatley enough that we will see a spike in sales when interest rates start going up, people will get off the fence and panic because they see the comfort level is changing or they better get in while the gettings good, however it will have already passed by that time and will always regret not buying at 4%. People will always seek home ownership vs renting even when interest rates are above 6% which people have not seen in many years.

My adivce if you are wanting to buy a home is consult a Realtor! We not just Licensed sales associates were consultants here to help you and our local housing market.
